In a trailer released on Reddit, with a voiceover that not only reminds you of the classic Godzilla films but literally puts Godzilla’s name in the trailer itself. The footage shows the film to be as much about what King Kong brings to the table, as Kong himself.

In this footage, we get a look at a bit of the other Kaiju on Skull Island and Kong’s role in the monster hierarchy. What is to come for Kong: Skull Island looks to confirm the numerous rumors that this movie, will setup the conflict between King Kong and Godzilla in a series of sequel films.

While we do catch glimpses of other monsters in the trailer, we have yet to know if the movie will pit King Kong against another formidable Kaiju as Godzilla (2014) did. Or if his main antagonists will be the men and women intruding on his territory.

With a slew of prominent actors, what looks to be an enormous budget, and some intense moments in just the trailer alone, Kong: Skull Island should be a film to look forward to. With films such as Pacific Rim and Godzilla (2014) giving fans the reality of seeing their favorite monsters rendered in beautiful CG, King Kong looks to be as menacing and powerful as ever in the few shots the trailer gives us.

Surely saving the ultimate reveal for the movie itself, these clips are all we have of King Kong, but for all we haven’t seen one thing is clear, this time he is bigger than ever before.
