Dawn of War 3, the upcoming RTS (real-time strategy) game set in the Warhammer 40K universe, is nearly here. Relic Entertainment has been developing the game for some time, as the last Dawn of War game released back in 2011. Today, Sega Europe announced the release date through this YouTube video below. In addition to the release date, they’ve also shown what players get for preordering the game.
In Dawn of War 3, the Space Marines (specifically the Blood Ravens), Orks and Eldar will all be playable. There will be both a campaign and multiplayer, with a delicate balance between the three factions. Units range from minor infantry to massive walker-style troops. Gameplay will be a blend between Dawn of War and Dawn of War 2, with traditional basebuilding alongside an emphasis on micromanaging small groups of powerful units. The plot seems to revolve around a doomsday weapon discovered on a remote planet, however there aren’t many details other than that.
