Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy New Trailer Looks Marvel-lous

Looking good Guardians, looking good

Looks Marvel-lous

It was only yesterday that we found out that Telltale’s upcoming new series Guardians of the Galaxy will release on April 18th. Now, they have just released a brand new trailer via the Guardians of the Galaxy official YouTube page. It looks Marvel-lous if I’m honest.

You can check out the new trailer below:

It all looks bloody good fun. The humor seems to be there, which is essential for Guardians of the Galaxy I would say. It reminded me of Tales from the Borderlands for some reason. Probably because it made me laugh, not something you tend to get with The Walking Dead.

One of the cool points from this video was the emerging plot. Thanos is out and about and looking to cause trouble, presumably on his hunt for he Infinity Stones to go into his Infinity Gauntlet. I am curious as to where this series will fit into the Marvel timeline. At brief speculation it can’t really fit into the film canon; Groot is fully grown and Thanos is still doing the rounds. We can only presume this takes place in a timeline where the Guardians have joined up into their allegiance (i.e. the events of the first film), but without the consequence of Groot perishing and re-emerging as Baby Groot (see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2).

If I’m honest, I’m not well versed in the comics so if this is based on a plotline from one of them I am unawares. Feel free to let me know.

What do you make of the new trailer? Will you be picking up Guardians of the Galaxy’s first episode in April? Let us know what you think in the comments below, the RGM Forums or on Twitter. Feel free to share this article on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pintrest or Reddit!
