Developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA, Total War: Warhammer was an incredible success, merging the grand lore of the Warhammer franchise with the real-time strategy (RTS) gameplay of Total War. Outselling every other Total War game, the game was originally announced as the first installment in a trilogy. Now, we know what part two will look like, as Total War: Warhammer II has been announced! Here’s the official trailer:
For fans of the lore and newcomers alike, this is some exciting stuff, especially since it launches later this year. The four main factions appear to be the High Elves, Dark Elves, Lizardmen and almost certainly Skaven.
Another interesting confirmation is how the game will work. Shortly after launch, if you own the original title as well as the new game, they can be combined into one colossal game world. This would mean a massive map with eight factions (more with the DLC). As a fan of both RTS games and Warhammer lore, I can’t wait to see more of this.
