You can now purchase games through Twitch – earn rewards, enter comps

Buy games on the spot and earn rewards

We have known for some weeks now that Twitch was intending on implementing a new system that would allow gamers to purchase games on the spot. If you are watching a stream and you like the game you are seeing, wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could just purchase it there and then? Well now you will be able to (providing said game in on the list of release titles which will continue to grow).

Whilst this is very convenient the perks don’t stop there, by making a purchase that costs more than $4.99 you will earn a ‘Twitch Crate’ which contains emotes, accessories and badges. Once you have earned a Twitch Crate you become eligible to enter a competition that is running until midnight May 1st, with some pretty awesome prizes on offer:

  • Hyper X Cloud Gaming Headset, Logitech F710 Wireless Controller, Twitch t-shirt
  • G.Skill RIPJAWS KM780 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Twitch t-shirt
  • Razer Mamba 5G Gaming Mouse, Razer Firefly Cloth Mousepad, Twitch t-shirt
  • Logitech G533 Wireless Surround Sound Gaming Headset, Logitech PRO Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Twitch t-shirt
For more details on these competitions please head to the Twitch website.

If you happen to be the person doing the streaming and effectively generating these sales with your sweet twitching skills, you are in for a treat too if you happen to be partnered with Twitch. You will receive 5% of revenue generated from your channel, with 70% of the remaining funds going directly to the development studio.
