We’ve known for some time that Halo Wars 2 was getting enhanced for the Xbox One X however, that’s not all that’s coming. 343 Industries recently confirmed that Halo Wars 2 is getting crossplay, allowing Xbox One and Windows 10 players to play with or against each other.
This announcement was made via Twitter:

Some more details were divulged on Halo Waypoint. It’s been in testing for some time and is now planned to roll out alongside the Xbox One X enhancements and custom Arena support. While there aren’t any specifics about whether crossplay is required or opt-in, games like Gears of War 4 have optional playlists, so it seems likely that will be the case here.
If you haven’t played Halo Wars 2 before I recommend reading our review here.
