Red Dead Redemption 2 finally gets a release date

Hip Hip Hooray, we've got a release day!

Red Dead Redemption

Celebrate, rejoice annnnd…wait a little longer! Red Dead Redemption 2 has a release date! Yes you heard me right, October 26th 2018, mark it in your calendars!

Rockstar made the announcement today via it’s official site. You may notice that this date is later than previously discussed. Until today, Red Dead Redemption 2 was expecting to release in ‘Spring 2018‘; meaning we would have expected to see the game release by the end of June.

Now, coming four months later, Rockstar did acknowledge the delay in a statement on their site:

“Dear All,

We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.

We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.

With thanks,
Rockstar Games”

Seems fair, Rockstar are fairly notorious for delaying their games; usually, it means we get a higher quality of game. I for one am happy to wait. That being said, I don’t envy the other games companies that were anticipating big game launches around that time.
