The Division 2 has been announced, full reveal coming at E3

More details are coming in June

Division 2
Wow! This week has been busy for announcements. Not only have we had a slew of new announcements come from the latest Nintendo Direct live stream; but we’ve also had the reveal that a new Call of Duty title is in the works. In the shape of Black Ops IIII (the numbering is still winding me up haha). Another big announcement this week is that Ubisoft has confirmed the existence of The Division 2.

Original developers, Massive Entertainment, are returning to helm the development of the sequel alongside RedStorm and Ubisoft Reflections. The Division 2 was announced during a livestream from Ubisoft, possibly in response to a leak of some details on the game earlier in the day.

Ubisoft haven’t given us much to go on so far; although they have said they will be giving The Division 2 a full reveal at E3 2018. That being said, it seems that transfer of saves from the original will be possible. Though how this will work is still to be detailed.

For fans of the original, fret ye not, Ubisoft also confirmed they will continue to support game. In April, a new patch will be released which provides 4K support for Xbox One X. There will also be new global events in the future. Come June, there will be some new challenges added in the form of ‘Crests’. These will unlock new items for The Division 2 on their successful completion.

How do you feel about a sequel to 2016’s The Division? I’ve just started getting into the original so I need a bit more time to decide whether I’m excited for a sequel. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
