Valentine’s Day is tomorrow (or today depending on your location) and numerous games are having events based around this holiday. Borderlands 3: Broken Hearts Day is one of those that you should really play. This event is for a short amount of time, so you need to jump into the game and collect those items.
Players will find that a new update is needed before they can join the event. It actually has already started and will be ending on February 20th at 8:59 AM PT. All you need to do is go out and just start shooting hearts. If your one of those players who hate having fun, you can disable this event at the start menu. Like all events, Borderlands 3: Broken Hearts Day has a story behind it. The synopsis was taken directly from the Borderlands 3 blog.
“Maurice, Sanctuary III‘s resident sentient Saurian, is hoping you’ll assist with his ongoing study of the human condition as he turns his attention to our species’ courting rituals. You’ll be well rewarded for completing Maurice’s challenges during this new seasonal event revealed on episode five of The Borderlands Show, and don’t worry, you’re not being asked to do anything inappropriate. Simply shoot down the floating hearts that are swirling around enemies across the galaxy as you go about your regular Vault Hunter business.”
Some of the items that you will be able to unlock are these holiday-themed weapons and trinkets. Here are the amount of hearts to shoot and what you will unlock:
- 10 – “ECHOcardiogram” ECHO Skin
- 25 – “Cosmic Romance” Weapon Trinket
- 50 – “Terminal Polyaimorous” Legendary Maliwan SMG
- 75 – “Heartbreaker” Vault Hunter Skin
- 100 – “Wedding Invitation” Legendary Jakobs Sniper Rifle
Players will also notice that they can now get to level 53. Borderlands 3 level cap increase is a small one, but necessary for players to continue to enjoy the game.
