A quick prep guide for Destiny 2’s Leviathan Raid

Destiny 2's Leviathan Raid
Destiny 2 is out now on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, coming to PC this October

Hey there gamers! If you’re one of the 1.2 million players currently enjoying Destiny 2, you’re no doubt getting ready for Destiny 2’s Leviathan Raid. The first Raid of the game, it goes live Wednesday, September 13th at 10 a.m. PDT / 1 p.m. EDT, or Thursday, September 14th at 1 a.m. BST / 3 a.m. AEST.

Knowing when to start however, does not help if you can’t start the Raid at all. So, here’s a simple way to put yourself at ease. Luke Smith, Director of Destiny 2, confirmed earlier today on Twitter that Leviathan has a Power range of 260-280. (Significantly lower than the 300 I expected.)

Presumably, this means you’ll have entry to the Raid at Power Level 260, with a requirement of 280 if you’re doing it on the higher difficulty. Not at this level yet? Having difficulty getting good equipment to drop? There are some simple solutions.

Firstly, assuming you’ve beaten the campaign, you should be putting most of your effort into Strikes. These will grant you more experience points for Bright Engrams and completing them will usually net you some pretty sweet loot drops. You’ll also earn Vanguard Tactician Tokens which can be turned in to Commander Zavala for more Legendary equipment.

So there you go, no reason to fret, just get on those Strikes and you’ll be ready when Destiny 2’s Leviathan Raid goes live!
