Ark: Survival Evolved launches at retail on August 29th, 2017

Some more news has come out for Ark: Survival Evolved ahead of its full retail release on August 29th, 2017. First up, there’s a launch trailer celebrating the craziness, shenanigans and beauty of the world of Ark:

You can watch the launch trailer right here

Next up, there’s some info from the official website on the status of low-population servers:

These lower population servers make up about 33% of the existing online servers, with calculations based on sustained player-count as well as popularity of game mode. These servers will be taken offline and be re-purposed for new, fresh servers that will be put up on launch day. Any existing server that is not considered a low pop server and is not taken down will become a Legacy server.

You’ll have until 12:00 a.m. EST on August 29th to move your belongings off these servers. For more information on how this will work, or for a list of which servers are up for deletion, make sure you visit the website.

On another note, we finally have some information regarding how Ark: Survival Evolved will join the Xbox Play Anywhere program. While originally planned to be implemented on launch day, the Xbox One version of Ark: Survival Evolved will be getting Xbox Play Anywhere support sometime in mid-September. At this time, a Windows 10 version of the game will naturally become available. That’s not all however, as if you own an Xbox One/ Windows 10 copy of the game, you can use a second device with the same copy to host your own server without needing a second copy of the game.

I’m sure many players are going to appreciate this feature. Ark: Survival Evolved launches at retail on August 29th, 2017.
