The kickoff for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 beta is only a numbers of days away. For PlayStation 4 gamers to be precise it’s:

For those eagerly awaiting to play the beta on Xbox One and PC you have an additional few days to wait before you can get your hands on the beta though. The beta will run for the same amount of time on all platforms, however PlayStation 4 will have the upper hand with earlier access than other platforms. with Xbox One and Pc kicking off on August 26th.

As previously advised, details have been released about the size of the upcoming beta for Black Ops 3 and what the difference is beta code / beta token and roll out dates. If you have received a code and are unsure what to do with it, please check the details below.

The size of the beta will be 15GB so make sure you have room put aside for the download, however the was no clarification if the beta will be the same for all platforms. So just make sure you have an extra 2GB spare just in case.

The beta tokens will be emailed out starting from midnight the day of the beta release for each respective platform so keep an eye on your inbox.

How big is the Beta file? To make the Beta a fun and valuable experience, we’ve packed it with a lot of content. Therefore, the file is approximately 15 GB and download times will vary based on location, server traffic, and connection speed.

What’s the difference between my Beta code that I received and my Beta token?

Your pre-order Beta code reserved your spot for the Beta and is redeemed at CallofDuty.com/BlackOps3Beta. Once you have registered, a Beta token will be emailed to you on a rolling basis beginning at 12:00 AM PST on August 19th for PS4 users and on a rolling basis at 12:00 AM PST on August 26th for Xbox One and PC users. This Beta token will allow you to download the Beta from the platform you have designated in the registration process.

The new beta trailer below boasts features such as:

  • Unlock weapons, perk, equipment and scorestreaks
  • 7+ multiplayer modes
  • 3+ multiplayer maps
  • 8 multiplayer specialists
  • Weapon customization including paint shop

Outrider, Prophet, Ruin and Battery are the specialists that will be unlocked on day one of the PlayStation 4 beta. By reaching level 22 you will also unlock Seraph, and level 28 unlocks you Nomad.

Half way through the beta an additional two specialists will be added, Reaper and Spectre.

Maps:

  • Hunted: This big game hunting lodge is situated beneath a waterfall in the lush mountains of Ethiopia, where rugged terrain opens up to long sightlines and a stealthy underwater pathway.
  • Combine: Set in the remote Egyptian Sahara, this vertical farming and sustainability research facility plays fast and frenetic with tight interiors, an open middle and a dangerous flank path.
  • Evac: An abandoned emergency evacuation zone atop an overgrown rooftop in the middle of Singapore’s flooded quarantine zone.

 

MOVEMENT TUTORIAL:

As the beta only runs for 4 days on each platform you don’t want to go in blind and spend too much of that time getting a feel for the mechanics, you want to hit the ground running and get those devastating scorestreaks from day 1.

With that in mind Treyarch Studio’s David Vonderhaar and Dan Bunting have put together this tutorial video to walk you through the mechanics of the gameplay movement so you can chain together thrust jumping, wall running, knee sliding kill combos from the moment you kick off the beta.
