Final Fantasy XV: VR Experience will not be released to public

No shooting, more fishing.

Final Fantasy XV: VR Experience
The VR experience isn't going to be playable, contrary to initial statements

Before anyone panics too much about the Final Fantasy XV: VR Experience not being released to the public, rest assured that ‘Final Fantasy Fish-teen’ AKA Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV VR game is still in production.

Final Fantasy XV: VR Experience was showcased at E3 2016. According to Gamespot however, Square Enix has confirmed that it was just a technical demo.

Here’s the original E3 trailer for the DLC:

In the demo, you play from a first-person view as Prompto, one of the main characters in the game. While you weren’t able to free roam, you could quickly teleport to different vantage points and shoot at targets as seen in the video above. It was also originally planned as a free DLC download.

The demo gave Square Enix time to learn from the technology inside PlayStation VR and as a result, gave rise to Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV.

Do you think Square Enix made the right decision here? Do you feel there could be some merit to releasing it anyway if it was going to be free DLC? Let us know in the comments below!
