Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare DLC
The Flood have returned

A flood of new content is available right now with the Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare DLC. First announced at E3 2017, this expansion pack tells the latest chapter of the Halo story. These missions allow players to control the Banished in a desperate attempt to contain an ancient infection. There’s also fantastic new cutscenes from Blur Studio to bookend the campaign created by 343 Industries and Creative Assembly.

Check out the launch trailer, which gives a glimpse into the awaiting horror:

In addition to the new campaign, two new Brute leaders are being added in this expansion. The brothers Voridus and Pavium each have their own unique units and playstyles, meaning Halo Wars 2 now has 16 different Leaders across the UNSC and Banished.

Firefight is returning as Terminus Firefight, where up to three players defend their bases from increasing waves of foes. There’s also 37 new achievements to earn across Awakening the Nightmare’s campaign, multiplayer and Terminus Firefight. For all the new patch notes and details, be sure to check Halo Waypoint. This isn’t the final update however, as this November Halo Wars 2 will get full Xbox One X support, including 4K visuals, 4K textures and HDR.

Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare DLC is available on Xbox One and Windows 10 for $19.99 USD, with Xbox Play Anywhere support.
