First announced at Microsoft’s 2015 Gamescom presentation, the long-awaited Halo Wars 2 is nearly here. After an initial beta that ran from June 13–23 of last year that was exclusive to the Xbox One, there is going to be a new beta running from January 20 through January 30. This beta will be available on both Xbox One and the Windows 10 platform.
As reported here on Major Nelson’s blog, the beta will focus on the new Blitz mode. 
Blitz uses a very different system for controlling your faction. Instead of building bases and armies in usual sense, you will build a deck beforehand that you then play cards out of in order to summon various troops, vehicles, aircraft and abilities on to the battlefield. 343i has also incorporated feedback from the previous beta to refine the game in prep for launch. Halo Wars 2 releases February 21 on Xbox One and Windows 10 with Xbox Play Anywhere support.
