Hob gets beautiful cel-shaded ‘Mood’ trailer

Runic Games have revealed a fantastic new trailer for their upcoming adventure game, Hob. Subtitled ‘Mood’, the video showcases Hob’s exceptional cel-shaded aesthetic and colorful environments. Some of the lush landscapes, abandoned ruins, and brooding mechanical dungeons feature prominently and gameplay looks sharp and polished. This is definitely one to watch!

Take a look at the trailer below:

For those late to the party, here’s a description of the game from Runic’s site.

Hob is a suspenseful adventure game set on a stunning and brutal world in disarray. Slowly uncover your role in saving the vibrant life around you. Explore stunning landscapes, solve puzzles, and transform the planet itself.

The protagonist will be entirely silent and the narrative is described as “wordless”. As such, interactions with the creatures encountered during exploration will tell the story. While the trailer does not depict any fisticuffs, rest assured there will be action aplenty. The titular character is equipped with a cool mechanical arm-glove enabling special abilities and attacks, both during battle and while exploring.

Hob is coming to PlayStation 4 and PC sometime in 2017. Though Runic have no plans for a release on Xbox One, they may be “open” to other platforms down the road.
