Issues registering for PlayStation E3 Experience? You’re not alone

E3 Experience
The website crashed yesterday due to unprecedented traffic

*This story has been updated with new information further down. Yesterday, thousands if not more PlayStation fans rushed to confirm their tickets for the 2017 PlayStation E3 Experience. E3 Experience is an event allowing fans to watch the PlayStation Press Conference in one of 85 theaters. However, Sony may have underestimated how eager fans would be to register, as the site was bombarded by requests and crashed for most of the day.

Sony has issued an official statement on Twitter saying:

So that definitely isn’t much to go on however at least they are aware of the problem. Given when they tweeted this out, hopefully they’ll have a solution out soon today. We’ll definitely make sure to stay on top of this as it develops and let you know what to do so you can get your free tickets.

Update:

PlayStation has provided an update for us.

Here’s what’s changed:

  • There was a brief system test last night which allowed a small number of tickets to be claimed. As of this morning there are still plenty of tickets remaining at each theater.
  • If you received a ticket confirmation email you are guaranteed a seat at the event if you present your valid ticket at least 30 minutes before show time.
  • We will be admitting those without tickets on a first-come first-served basis after all present ticket holders are seated.

A limited number of tickets are available right now, so I recommend registering ASAP to get in. Just go to this link here.
