Jessica Jones Season 2 Brings In All-Female Director Team

Girl power!

In a report from Variety, some information was revealed about the production of the second season of Netflix and Marvel’s Jessica Jones.

On October 21st, executive producer Melissa Rosenberg let us all in on this info during a panel she was on at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.

While on this panel, she made claims that she was making a conscious effort to bring more female crew members on. This makes a lot of sense. Jessica Jones is one of the MCU’s two female-led properties, alongside Agent Carter, which was recently cancelled.

She continued by saying an unnamed crew member suggested that all of the directors should be female, an idea she and Marvel liked a lot. While currently not listed, the entire team of directors on Jessica Jones Season 2 will be female.

While she was on this panel, we also learned about the progress towards completion in the season. The scripts are in the middle of being finished and shooting begins next year.

There are currently no details about the plot of Jessica Jones‘ second season, but it is safe to assume we will learn more about the origins of Jessica’s abilities, as well as encounter a new foe.
