Nintendo has identified the cause of the Switch’s JoyCon wireless issues

The official statement is mentioning "manufacturing variation".

Cause of the Switch left JoyCon issue is found

Since the release of the Switch, the console has had its fair share of success and praise.  There is a certain percentage of people that are reporting issues with the left JoyCon controller while using it wirelessly. Its synchronization with the console can be lost, making it difficult or even impossible to use.  After some investigation, it seems Nintendo has found the cause of the problem.

In an official statement released by the company yesterday, and reported by Kotaku and other web sites, it is said that it’s not a hardware problem, but a “manufacturing variation”.  It also states that are there is a simple fix that can be tried.  They asked gamers affected by this issue to contact the support team, and that if a repair is considered necessary, it can be sent and repaired free of charge “with an anticipated quick return of less than a week”.  Here is the full statement provided to Kotaku :

There is no design issue with the Joy-Con controllers, and no widespread proactive repair or replacement effort is underway. A manufacturing variation has resulted in wireless interference with a small number of the left Joy-Con. Moving forward, this will not be an issue as the manufacturing variation has been addressed and corrected at the factory level.

We have determined a simple fix can be made to any affected Joy-Con to improve connectivity.

There are other reasons consumers may be experiencing wireless interference. We are asking consumers to contact our customer support team so we can help them determine if a repair is necessary. If it is, consumers can send their controller directly to Nintendo for the adjustment, free of charge, with an anticipated quick return of less than a week. Repair timing may vary by region. This is actually a great news for those that were scared about the repercussions of such a problem with the controllers.  Now, with Nintendo planning to double its production for this year, let’s just hope that will be able to suffice the demands.  Personally, I’m hoping I’ll be able to get my hands on one for the release of Mario Kart 8 in about a month.  I’ll see what the future holds for me!

Do you think that this is all politics or did Nintendo really find out the true problem ? Do you think that will finally be able to satisfy the demands for their new console ? Let us know in the comments and forums.
