It’s a sad state of affairs when a delay of a couple of months to a video game is enough to reduce people to becoming animals. Sean Murray, the creator of No Man’s Sky, took to Twitter to apologise to fans for the delay, stating that they needed to time to “make the game you guys deserve”. However he later posted on Twitter the following:
I have received loads of death threats this week, but don’t worry, Hello Games now looks like the house from Home Alone #pillowfort

He’s been taking it all in his stride to be fair to him, even turning it into a joke. But it’s an inevitability that some games get delayed – and I would rather a game be delayed by a couple of months than be rushed out with bugs and glitches just to meet a schedule. The delay in reality isn’t all that long, and those who have been sending threats to him mark themselves out nothing more than vile. But as I say, at least he’s taking it all in his stride…
Tell me when its safe to remove the marbles and oil from the stairs. It’s getting really cumbersome, and I need the toilet

What do you think about this? Would you sent a threat to a game designer just because of a delay? Or do you think threats of this nature are as idiotic as they sound? Let us know in the comments below or the RGM Forums.
