In December of 2014 Sony kicked off an event titled PlayStation Experience to the masses. The event was held over the weekend of December 6th and the 7th in Las Vegas and appeared to be a great way for Sony to engage with their fanbase.
Apparently the event was a success because it appears that all things are go for Sony to host another PlayStation Experience, this time in San Francisco on the weekend of December 5th and 6th 2015.
According to the PlayStation blog Sony is promising fans a ton of hands on time with 2015 and 2016’s biggest games, some major PlayStation announcements and some patented PlayStation surprises that fans have come to expect. While Sony has not yet announced which games will be on hand it could be a safe bet that titles like Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted 4 could be on hand especially with Uncharted 4 arguably being PS4’s most anticipated upcoming exclusive now rumored to release sometime in March 2016.
While no one will argue that Sony has been a bit light on first party exclusives the 2015 PlayStation Experience could be a great time for them to build some strong anticipation for their gaming portfolio heading into 2016, of course giving fans something to really look forward to.
Between E3 and Gamescom Microsoft has thrown down the proverbial first party exclusive gauntlet placing the ball into Sony’s court. Sony opted out of having a Gamescom conference so hopefully the PlayStation Experience will be the platform for some tremendous announcements of triple A first party titles. I’m sure for that weekend fans will be laser focused on the event hoping for just that!
