Xbox One S 2 TB Model Releases August 2nd

Today on Larry Hryb’s (aka Major Nelson) blog and via Twitter, it was officially announced that the 2 TB Xbox One S will release on August 2nd. As of this writing, you can still pre-order the system through the Microsoft store and select retailers. Larry also commented on his site that supply is limited and demand has been high so if you are considering an Xbox One S console, it would be a good idea to try to pre-order as soon as you can.

The Xbox One S was revealed at E3 2016 and will be slimmed down from the current model, come in white, and feature high dynamic range (HDR) and upscaling to 4K for 4K TVs and streaming.  It is also the first and only console with a 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray player.  A new Xbox controller with textured grips, bluetooth and an improved wireless signal will also come with the system and will retail for $59.99 as a standalone accessory. Pricing for the 2 TB model is $399. In addition to the 2 TB model a 500 gig and 1 TB model will also be released at a future date. They will retail for $299 and $349 respectively.
