The Destiny servers are down with the launch of the Rise of Iron DLC – queue now in place

UPDATE:

Some three hours later and the queue has thinned and many are starting to get online, so just keep trying as you will most likely make it onto the server soon.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The newest expansion to Destiny has failed to rise, with the servers crashing almost worldwide nearly an hour ago as the Rise of Iron expansion went live.

Temperatures are rising, both on social media and in my own Xbox Live party as we bounce from sign in screen to error notification.

The Destiny Twitter account assure us that they are onto it which hopefully means that the issue should be fixed soon with an in game queue now in play with close to 300,000 people waiting in line – that is, for those who are not being kicked from the waiting queue and being re-added further down the line.

This outage is affecting all platforms, along with the website which is not allowing most to sign in and the companion app which whilst is running for the most part is still experiencing issues.

We will update you further once we hear more about the expected time of return and the actual Rise of Iron.
