The 2017 Paris Games Week PlayStation conference pre-show is underway! The first of many new games revealed is none other than Guacamelee! 2, sequel to the 2013 platformer Guacamelee!. Developed by DrinkBox Studios, this platformer promises even more chicken action and deadly levels than ever before.
Take a look at the reveal trailer here:
The official synopsis reads:
Seven years after defeating Carlos Calaca, Juan Aguacate is forced to don his luchador mask again to face a new threat — this time to the very fabric of space and time. Punch your way through a whole new Metroid-vania style world and try to save the Mexiverse!
This definitely looks like an improved version of the first game, which isn’t a bad thing by any means. No release date or platforms have been specified beyond the fact that Guacamelee! 2 is coming to PlayStation 4 in 2018. The original game was a temporary PlayStation exclusive before it made its way to other platforms, so that’s probably the case here. Hopefully we’ll get more details fairly soon.
