Xbox One S boosts Xbox One Hardware Sales by almost 1000% in the UK

The release of the Xbox One S has seen Xbox One hardware sales rise 989% in week-on-week sales according to data obtained by MCVUK.

That is not the only good news for Microsoft who have trailed PlayStation for the majority of this gen, the Xbox One also had a 71% share of hardware sales for week ending September 24th, an increase of 76% year-on-year.

Meanwhile PlayStation 4 hardware sales have declined 66% year-on-year but did see an increase of 22% for week-on-week sales but only managed a market share of 19% last week for hardware sales.

A possible explanation for the poor sales on PlayStation 4 hardware could be down to buyers potentially waiting for the release of the PlayStation 4 Pro which launches in November.

What do you think of the sales on hardware? Has Xbox One S helped Microsoft finally turn a corner? Will PlayStation pull it back after the release of the PlayStation 4 Pro? Let us know in the comments below.
