Finnish developer 10tons (Sparkle 2, Sparkle: Unleashed) continues to support casual puzzle gaming on consoles with its upcoming release of Azkend 2: The World Beneath on Xbox One and Playstation 4.
Azkend 2 is a visually-striking, match-three adventure game, and includes an adventure mode and two challenge modes.
Adventure mode comes complete with a Jules Vernesque narrative: While traveling from Liverpool to New York your ship was pulled down into a massive maelstrom and you woke up in a place that may have never been gazed upon by the eyes of men. Players must complete the levels to ascend from the bowels of the earth and return to civilization.
Azkend 2 presents you several different and exciting level styles throughout the adventure. You can also earn almost 20 unique powerups and over a dozen achievements. Choose your powerups wisely for each level to hasten your journey. With over sixty levels to complete in story mode and unique, hand-drawn and animated scenes, Azkend 2 looks to bring a fresh take on popular puzzlers. The game also features a time-challenge mode and a medals-challenge, where players must meet certain conditions to earn a reward – further deepening the carefully-polished puzzle gameplay, and providing additional replay value.
