Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair has, all of a sudden, been announced for release on PC via Steam by publishers D3, and is coming this Monday, July 18th.
Previously released on PlayStation 4, EDF 4.1 is a remaster of Earth Defense Force 2025, which was released only 3 years ago on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game is a third-person shooter that sees you fighting for the future of our planet of Earth as a part of the Earth Defense Force against the alien invaders known as the Ravagers. But these aren’t your normal human sized aliens, oh no. Nope, in true Japanese fashion the antagonists are giant monsters! Think Godzilla meets Starship Troopers…man how good was Starship Troopers?! With the nuke-bazooka?? Right!?
Ahem…the way in which you play this game is massively varied, with over 800 weapons and 80 missions, 4 playable classes and online co-op this is yet another great addictive game for Steam players to get their teeth into over the summer months when the rest of the world is out playing Pokemon GO!
