EA to Support Nintendo Switch with One of their Bigger Games

EA is the latest of many game companies to release news about their partnerships with Nintendo’s new console; the Nintendo Switch.

According to our sources at NeoGaf, during the UBS Global Technology, EA’s CFO Blake Jorgensen released more news about their plans with Nintendo for the Switch:

“In terms of Nintendo, in their announcement they announced that we’ll be supporting with a game or two on that new platform. We haven’t yet announced what game, but you should assume that it’s one of our bigger games we’ve been involved with.”

“We’re excited for Nintendo, it’s an interesting device, but I can’t yet predict how broad it’s going to be, and will people be interested in a portable device alongside their regular portable device that they have.”

Despite promising to invest one of their bigger titles in the upcoming console, EA is following suite with the companies that have released support for the Switch in keeping all details rather vague.

Nintendo is poised to make a comeback from the disaster that was the Wii U sales figures with the Switch. The rumors about just what the Switch itself would be floated around for the past two years, but after the release trailer, the prototype portable/console system was finally confirmed.

Many fans and critics are hesitant to jump onto the hype train of the Switch, as portable gaming has been all but consumed by mobile phone gaming; even eclipsing the once invincible Nintendo DS. The idea of playing our favorite games on the go is enticing but there are still far too many questions left for the Switch’s power, battery life, internet capabilities, cost and more, to dive in just yet.

Nintendo has been the industry leader in innovations for the gaming industry for decades, and the company is counting on the Switch being another killer app for the company, after the explosion that was the success of the Wii and the failure that was the Wii U.

Hopefully the many partners of the Switch will start releasing more details on just which games are coming to the console soon. The thought of playing the latest Battlefield, Madden, or Mass Effect on the go would certainly draw more attention to the console, especially for those outside the Nintendo faithful.
