J.J. Abrams Says Portal Movie Announcement Incoming

J.J. Abrams has intimated that an announcement regarding his Portal film production is on the way “fairly soon”. Speaking to IGN at the premiere event for HBO’s Westworld, the director stated that he was meeting with Valve in the near future and that Portal and Half-Life would be discussed, perhaps leading to some concrete details on both projects shortly.

As far as plot lines were concerned, Abrams was not giving up any secrets and would not confirm or deny whether the films would be following events in the games or going in new directions with brand new stories. No doubt something involving cake and lies…

“We’re having some really interesting conversations with writers, many of whom are, like, crazy obsessed,” He said. “As someone who loved playing Half Life and loved playing Portal … it’s incredible when you talk to someone who just ‘gets’ it. It’s like, oh my god, it’s really the seed for this incredible tree you’re growing.”

Rampant speculation will surely precede any announcement in relation to Portal but as long as we get a song from GLaDOS, I’m chuffed to see it!
