Nolan North was subject to a “50 Questions” video on Gamesradar and in it revealed that he would be more than willing to step up as the protagonist for the Uncharted series, Nathan Drake if called upon.
In a quick-fire interview, where he also revealed his thoughts on Darth Vader being misunderstood and that “good Italian sausage” is his favorite pizza topping, he revealed his thoughts on Uncharted ending and a possible Uncharted 5…
“I’m not happy that Uncharted’s ended, but if they said ‘Hey, we want to do Uncharted 5. Do you want to do Nathan Drake or should we ask somebody else?’ I’d be like ‘No, no!’
“It’s very bittersweet. It was something that was very special to me. It was seriously the best job I’ve ever had. It opened doors, it made me a better actor. It is my big break, so to speak. So of course I would…
“And that’s why I think the things about the films are always questionable. Because I’m an on-camera actor but possibly too old? But then they talk about Mark Wahlberg, who’s about my age, and it’s a complex situation. But if they were gonna do another game… I’m not gonna be the guy holding out for more, I’m the guy who’s ready to suit up”
Of course, this would entirely be subject to Sony and Naughty Dog being ready and willing to sign off on a 5th game in the Uncharted series, but with Nolan North “ready to suit up” it would certainly be a better game with Nolan North playing Nathan Drake, even if he does think that clowns are “the most terrifying horrible things on the planet.”
