Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII officially announced

Great Scott, Marty! Could Call of Duty be going back to the future?

Black Ops IIII
It was only a matter of time. With rumblings surrounding the next iteration of Battlefield, Activision weren’t going to let EA hog the limelight for too long. They have officially revealed that the next entry in the Call of Duty series will be: Black Ops IIII.

Ignorance of roman numerals aside, Activision have detailed that Black Ops IIII will have an official reveal come May 17th. The game itself launches worldwide October 12th. This is the first time in over 10 years that a game in the series doesn’t release in November. Perhaps an upcoming cowboy title has them quivering in their britches?

That’s it really, no other details than the two dates. Developers Treyarch are keeping tight-lipped for the meanwhile. Formats, features and the like we will have to wait on, presumably that information will appear May 17th.

Given the positive reception of Call of Duty: WW2 I’m a little disappointed for this announcement. I guess it makes sense; vary the setting so that you can please all your audiences. That being said, opinion was divided over Black Ops III.  Where do you stand on this announcement? Let us know in the comments below.
